The decision GGA/24371/2024was published in the Official Gazette, which determines the necessary supporting documents, the required medical examinations, the authority to issue and renew and all the details of issuing the sports employee’s health card.

The certification of the health status of sports employees is recorded in a health card, is mandatory and is a condition for their participation in work sports events, related to the subject, training sessions or any kind of work sports programs. It must be presented to the person in charge of managing work sports programs within the workplace, as well as to the managers of contracted gyms or specialized work sports companies if it is about programs outside the workplace.

The Sports Employee Health Card is an independent document and is not linked to any other medical document that the employee has presented for his work. It must be submitted to the secretariat or to the competent match referee of any kind of work sports event, as a basic condition for participation in the match.

The Sports Employee Health Card is issued after medical examinations and is renewed under the responsibility of the Body (Public or private) in which the athlete works and under the supervision of the employee. Its issuance and renewal are considered to have been completed with its seal and signature by the doctors and is valid for 1 year from its issuance.

The medical examinations include:

a) Clinical examination

b) Individual and family medical history

c) Electrocardiogram.

Depending on the findings of the above mandatory tests and if the doctors judge, according to their scientific judgment, that further investigation is necessary, they may refer the sports employee for additional tests.

Within a period of 4 months from the entry into force of this decision, the organizations must ensure that the sports employees of their organization are informed about the issuance of their Health Cards
