Businesses operating in the South Aegean Region now have the opportunity to secure up to 60% public funding for investment projects aimed at improving competitiveness, modernising operations, and supporting long-term business growth.
Under this new funding programme, eligible small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can receive financial support for investment projects ranging from €30,000 to €400,000, helping them develop innovative products and services, upgrade their infrastructure, and strengthen their market position.

What is the objective of the programme?
The programme supports businesses investing in sectors that have been identified as strategic priorities for the South Aegean Region. Its primary objective is to encourage investments that contribute to:
- the development of new or improved products and services,
- technological and operational modernisation,
- increased competitiveness,
- stronger export potential and business growth,
- the adoption of innovative and sustainable business practices.
The programme forms part of Greece's Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS3) 2021–2027, which promotes regional innovation and sustainable economic development across key industries.
Which sectors are eligible?
Investment projects must be directly linked to one of the South Aegean Region's RIS3 priority sectors:
- Experience Tourism (tourism, culture and creative industries)
- Agri-food
- Fisheries & Aquaculture
- Renewable Energy Projects
In addition, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), green technologies, and human capital development are recognised as horizontal priorities that may be incorporated into projects across all sectors.
Who can participate?
The programme is open to existing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises that:
- have completed at least two full financial years before submitting their application,
- operate under an eligible business activity (NACE/KAD code) included in the programme,
- submit an investment proposal that falls within the eligible sectors specified in the official call.
Eligible expenditure
Funding may cover a wide range of investment costs, including:
- Personnel costs
- Machinery and equipment
- Eligible transport vehicles
- Building improvements and infrastructure works
- Professional and consulting services
- Software and digital solutions
- Marketing, promotion and networking activities
- Indirect costs (up to 7% of eligible direct project costs)
Funding available
Each investment project may have an eligible budget between €30,000 and €400,000.
The programme finances 60% of the eligible investment cost, while the remaining amount is covered through the beneficiary's own contribution.
Project implementation period
Approved investment projects must be completed within 24 months from the date of the funding approval decision.
