🧠 Subtitle:

It’s not the system’s fault. It’s just that some people know how to read it better. Time to become one of them.

We’ve all heard it before: “Only the same people get the money.” “If you don’t have connections, forget it.” “EU grants in Greece are rigged.”

Truth or excuse? The answer isn’t that simple. But yes — there is a reason why some businesses get the money and others don’t. And it’s not just about connections. It’s about readiness, structure, and having the right professional by your side.

So, who actually gets the money?

The businesses that:

  1. Have clean numbers. Not half-declared, not “whatever works,” not black-and-white accounting.
  2. Have the right activity code (KAD). If your KAD isn’t eligible, it’s game over — even if you’re the next Tesla.
  3. Are well-organized and properly structured. Not “we set up a company overnight with a friend,” but with turnover, staff, FTEs, and proper financial statements.
  4. Work with the right consultant. And not on the last day before the deadline. A good EU funding file needs strategy — not just paperwork.
  5. Speak the language of EU Funding Programs (NSRF – ESPA). Growth plan. Market needs. Innovation — not necessarily technological, but operational too. They convince the evaluators that they can move forward.

Who doesn’t get it?

  • Those who “just found out a program opened.”
  • Those who never worked on their business profile.
  • Those who declare only the bare minimum to the tax office.
  • Those who expect the state to do for them what they haven’t done themselves.

⚠️ Spoiler alert:

EU Funding Programs (NSRF – ESPA) aren’t social policy. They’re a development tool. And like every tool, they reward those who have already done the groundwork — those with a plan, a structure, and real progress to show.

They won’t save you if you’re not saving yourself. But they will take you higher if you’re ready to launch.

 What to do next

  1. Fix your financial and accounting profile now — not when “something opens.”
  2. Find a consultant who speaks honestly, not one who tells you what you want to hear.
  3. Treat your funding file as an investment, not a formality.
  4. Stay updated through professionals who actually work with these programs — not through Facebook posts.

At AFS, we don’t just “put you into a program.”

We help you get approved — and then use the funds wisely.

Let’s talk before the next call opens. Because those who prepare early... are the ones who, in the end, get the money.
