A new skills development and reskilling programme for private sector employees is being launched by the Public Employment Service (DYPA), aiming to strengthen professional skills in sectors with high demand in the modern economy.

The programme is part of the initiative “Upskilling and Reskilling Programmes in High-Demand Sectors with Emphasis on Digital, Green and Financial Literacy Skills”, under Action 16913.

Applications from interested employees open on Tuesday, March 10 at 12:00, and will remain available until all available positions are filled.

Who the Programme Is For

The programme is addressed to up to 114,384 private sector employees, who wish to enhance their professional skills and improve their career prospects in the evolving labour market.

The initiative focuses on strengthening skills in modern sectors of the economy, with particular emphasis on:

  • digital skills

  • green skills

  • financial literacy

The development of these skills is considered essential for adapting to the rapid changes in the labour market and the digital economy.

Duration and Training Format

The programme is implemented through the training voucher system.

Participants will attend a total of 150 hours of training, structured as follows:

  • 149 hours of asynchronous online training

  • 1 hour of live (synchronous) online training

This structure provides flexibility, allowing participants to complete most of the training at their own pace.

Certification and Training Allowance

After completing the training programme, participants will have the opportunity to take part in certification exams conducted by independent certification bodies.

Participants who successfully pass the certification process will receive a training allowance of up to €750 (gross).

This allowance serves as financial support for participation in the programme and rewards successful completion of the training and certification process.

Programme Funding

The continuing vocational training programmes are implemented within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, funded by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU programme.

The initiative forms part of the broader strategy to enhance workforce skills and support the transformation of the Greek economy through digitalisation, sustainability and innovation.
