A new pilot work experience program is being launched for unemployed individuals in the Region of Thessaly, offering 250 people over the age of 18 the opportunity to gain practical professional experience in the livestock sector.
The aim of the program is to strengthen employment and connect unemployed individuals with the labor market through their placement in businesses operating in the livestock industry.
The initiative is addressed to businesses in the Region of Thessaly and is implemented with the goal of supporting the primary sector and creating new professional opportunities for unemployed individuals.
Who can participate in the program
The program is open to private companies and employers in the private sector that operate in the livestock sector and are based in the Region of Thessaly.
Businesses can participate in the program depending on the number of employees they currently employ.
The allocation of beneficiaries is as follows:

Who are the beneficiaries
Beneficiaries of the program are:

Unemployed individuals registered in the DYPA digital unemployment registry in the Region of Thessaly

Individuals over the age of 18

Graduates of at least compulsory education
In addition, a necessary requirement for participation is the successful completion of the vocational training program “Principles of Biosecurity and Implementation of Proper Practices in Livestock Farming Operations”, with a duration of 50 hours.
The training program was implemented by the Larissa Lifelong Learning Center of DYPA, in cooperation with ELGO – DIMITRA.
State aid framework
The financial support provided under this program is granted in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/2831 on de minimis state aid.
To participate in the program, businesses must:

not have reduced their staff during the last month

not have received state aid exceeding €300,000 during the previous three years
Duration and compensation
The duration of the program is 6 months, with a daily schedule of 6 hours per day and 5 days per week.
DYPA provides participants with a monthly net compensation of €748, which corresponds to €34 per day for 22 working days.
Participants are insured by DYPA through e-EFKA for:

occupational risk coverage.
Participation process
The participation process in the program includes the following steps:

They define the job specialty and the required qualifications for the position

DYPA verifies that the business meets the participation requirements

DYPA employment counselors suggest candidates according to the qualifications required for the position

The company selects the appropriate candidate and the relevant agreement is signed
