A new funding opportunity is opening for businesses operating in the Region of Crete, through the program “Green Business in Crete”, with a total budget of €5 million, under the ESPA 2021–2027 framework.
The program aims to support existing very small, small, and medium-sized enterprises that wish to invest in environmentally friendly production processes, improve resource efficiency, and reduce their environmental and energy footprint.

Objective of the Program
The “Green Business in Crete” program seeks to help businesses transition to a more sustainable and environmentally responsible production model, by supporting investment projects that primarily:

facilitate the transition to climate-neutral and eco-friendly production processes,
-
adopt practices that improve the efficient management and use of resources,
-
encourage the recovery, reuse, and utilization of by-products and waste materials within the production process.
Grant Amount
The eligible budget for each investment project may range:

from €30,000 up to €300,000 per business.
Important Notes:
-
The eligible investment budget may not exceed twice the highest annual turnover achieved by the business in one of the two most recently closed financial years prior to the submission of the application.

Investment projects with a total budget below €30,000 are considered non-eligible and cannot be submitted.
Who Can Apply
Eligible beneficiaries include:

existing very small, small, and medium-sized enterprises,,
-
legally operating exclusively within the Region of Crete,
-
active in eligible business sectors,
-
and meeting all the terms and conditions set out in the official Call for Proposals.
