A new funding opportunity is expected to launch soon in the Peloponnese, providing financial support to unemployed individuals and workers in unstable employment who are looking to start their own business.
The scheme, funded through the Regional Operational Programme “Peloponnese 2021-2027”, is designed to encourage entrepreneurship and self-employment by helping aspiring business owners turn their ideas into sustainable ventures. Successful applicants may receive funding of up to €60,000 to support the launch and development of their new business.
Who can participate?
The programme is aimed at individuals who:
- Are registered unemployed or currently employed under flexible or insecure working arrangements.
- Are up to 55 years old.
- Plan to establish a new business in the Region of Peloponnese.
- Participate in only one funding proposal under this scheme.
Male applicants must have fulfilled or legally settled their military service obligations.
Funding Available
The programme provides support for:
- Individual start-ups with budgets ranging from €10,000 to €50,000.
- Collaborative business ventures with funding of up to €60,000.
The funding rate ranges from 70% to 90%, depending on the investment plan and the eligible costs.

The programme covers a wide range of investment and operating expenses, including:

- Vehicles and transportation equipment
- Business premises renovation and upgrading
- Software and digital tools
- Consultancy and specialised professional services
Operating Expenses
- Payroll Costs
- Business rent
- Operating expenses
- Marketing, promotion and networking activities
In addition, under certain conditions, non-deductible VAT may be considered an eligible expense.
Requirements for New Businesses
Businesses applying under the programme must:
- Be established after the submission of the funding proposal.
- Have their registered office within the Region of Peloponnese.
- Operate from an independent business premises.
- Not maintain branch offices.
In the case of partnerships, each partner must hold a minimum participation share of 30%.
Project Duration
The implementation period of the investment projects may extend up to 18 months, while operating expenses may be supported for a period of up to 12 months.
Total Programme Budget
The programme's public budget amounts to €2.3 million and is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) and national resources.
